Seria A Club to try and negotiate with United over 5 G/A attacker, but it won’t be easy to let go

When Manchester United’s 2023/2024 season ends, the club’s management will face a difficult task in deciding the futures of multiple out-of-favour players.

One of them is Jadon Sancho, who will return to Old Trafford in June after a half-season loan stay with Borussia Dortmund.

It happened following his infamous fallout with Erik ten Hag in September, in which the player was eventually barred from all first-team action and facilities for refusing to apologise to his manager after insinuating that he was a liar.

According to reports, Sancho is willing to play the long game with his Red Devils career, as judging by recent performances and the fact that United are now mathematically ruled out of the top four competition, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co. could end Ten Hag’s stay this summer.

The 24-year-old would then want to continue where he left off in M16, albeit he’d almost probably need to supervise a significant increase in form compared to his previous outings.

Assuming the Dutch manager is still in charge when the next season begins, Sancho is anticipated to be gone somewhere, either on loan or permanently. The latter may be tough to determine a price because United will not recoup the £73 million they paid for him in 2021.

Dortmund is intent on keeping Sancho long-term.

As a result, Dortmund is actively interested in making their former player’s move permanent this summer. He has three goals and two assists since joining Signal Iduna Park in January, and he will want to play a key role in the club’s Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint Germain.

Fabrizio Romano revealed that Dortmund will ‘attempt to negotiate’ a deal with United, but it will not be ‘simple’.
