Giovanni Di Lorenzo gives Man Utd a boost, but the right-back wants to leave Napoli – Man Utd News
With the addition of Giovanni Di Lorenzo, a right-back from Napoli, Manchester United has gained strength.
Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are the Red Devils’ current right-back options, although the latter may be heading out the door this summer.
The team has not yet negotiated a deal with Wan-Bissaka, whose contract ends in June of next year. It seems probable that after the conclusion of the season, he will be offloaded.
It seems doubtful that the Red Devils will spend a lot of money on a backup right-back given their current financial circumstances.
The 30-year-old Di Lorenzo is apparently looking for a fresh challenge, so the club has reportedly been in touch with his team last month and now they have a boost.
The Italian player has said that he “wants to leave” the Serie A team this summer, believing that his time with Napoli has come to an end.
Di Lorenzo would provide strong opposition.
Over the last five years, Di Lorenzo has established himself as one of Italy’s top right-backs. His excellent placement and distribution have drawn attention to himself.

He has completed 87% of his passes this season and is 70% accurate with the long ball. Together with four recoveries, he has averaged 1.5 tackles per game.
Throughout his 46 appearances, the Italian has contributed 10 goals, demonstrating his effectiveness in the closing third.
Di Lorenzo leads the Italian top division in progressive passes made this season (294).
Transfermarkt values him at £15 million at the moment, but because he turns 31 in August, United could be able to buy him for far less.
Di Lorenzo would be a decent stopgap signing despite his advanced age. With a constrained transfer budget, United must also give other important positions top priority.
