David de Gea names the Man Utd player who deserves 2024 FA Cup medal more than anybody

A number of former Manchester United players have expressed their joy at seeing a key player from that club win a title.

For Manchester United, this has been an incredibly frustrating season. The FA Cup has been the one bright spot, as the club has played to their maximum potential in that competition.

That cup run will go down in history. A 2-1 victory against City capped up a thrilling 4-3 victory over Liverpool.

Near the conclusion, we got to see captain Bruno Fernandes hoist the prize.

“Deserves” FA Cup victory goes to Bruno Fernandes
After Bruno Fernandes was named permanent captain, the criticism began to pile on, even though he had been serving as de facto captain the previous year.

It didn’t deter the Portugal international, who remained healthy for the most of the season and helped the club win the FA Cup at Wembley for the first time since 2016.

After the game, Fernandes sent a brief Instagram message that read: “FA Cup winner.”

Marcel Sabitzer, who was a finalist for the Champions League, and Odion Ighalo, who was overjoyed for Fernandes’ achievement, both sent him congratulations.

Last year’s FA Cup runner-up David de Gea also sent a message, writing: “Nobody deserves it more than you.”

Markus Fenton’s further message
As he thought back on Manchester United’s victory and the extraordinary day, Bruno Fernandes had one more message for the fans.

He thanked the supporters who had remained with the squad over a challenging season.

“A team performance 👏🏼,” Fernandes tweeted. We will keep fighting for this since it is vital to United’s mission. You reds, this is for you.
