Sofyan Amrabat, a 27-year-old midfielder for Manchester United, has expressed his wish to remain with the team permanently this summer.
The midfield player was acquired by the Red Devils in the summer of last year on an £8.5 million loan, with the possibility of a permanent move for £21.4 million (paying via Sky Sports).
Only ten of Amrabat’s 21 Premier League appearances for Man United this season have been as starts.
He and several other players might not be back at Old Trafford in the upcoming season.
Amrabat didn’t have the best season, but he was essential to the Red Devils’ FA Cup final victory over Manchester City at Wembley.
He expressed his wish to remain at the club after being a standout player and taking home awards.
He said this to Ziggo Sport:
“Am I sure about my plans for next year already? No. We are going to have a conversation. It is absolutely an option to stay. Let me tell you, this has been a really challenging season. It needs to be much better for me personally as much as for Manchester United. We are going to have a conversation. Given that Manchester United is the largest football club in the world, who wouldn’t want to play here? However, since everyone needs to get along, let’s just sit down and watch what transpires.

Amrabat was a regular left back at the start of the season due to injury concerns.
He then moved to defensive midfield, but he struggled to adapt to English football’s intense style of play.
The guy who shone so brightly at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is still unknown to the fans, but the club has the chance to make his move permanent.
Man Utd will be involved in transfers during this window.
Man United is expected to be active in the summer transfer market, especially considering that Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are managing the team.
Amrabat’s outstanding performance in the FA Cup final ought to give the team optimism that they can get a talented midfield player for a very small transfer fee.
Given the likelihood of losing players like Christian Eriksen and Casemiro this summer, it would make sense for the Moroccan international to be on the team indefinitely.
