Man United and Roberto de Zerbi are in real communication on the possibility of Man United taking over at Old Trafford.
It is my sincere belief that Manchester United is still undecided about their manager. Whether Erik ten Hag gets fired or not seems to be up for grabs.
Remember that Ten Hag wasn’t employed by INEOS. That might make it simpler for the ruling class to remove him from his position. It’s unclear if they have a specific candidate in mind to take the Dutchman’s place.
It seems apparent that Roberto de Zerbi is a plausible candidate. The Italian is prepared and available for a new role, having abruptly left Brighton at the end of the season.
An update on the situation has been supplied by journalist Alfredo Pedulla. He used Twitter to reaffirm that United is in “real” and “confirmed” communication with the Italian manager on a potential hiring.
Pedulla emphasises that although De Zerbi is “very popular” on a list with two or three names, no decision has been made yet. But first, there has to be a solid decision taken about Ten Hag.

In my opinion, this is a step in the wrong direction. After the cup final result, I would probably be marginally in favour of keeping Ten Hag.
Thus yet, De Zerbi hasn’t taken charge of a “big” club. For the manager, things are very different, but I suppose there’s only one way to find out if he can take the pressure.
This is where De Zerbi should be a match made in heaven for the Old Trafford club in terms of style of play. He enjoys playing intense possession-based video games. Given that money is scarce right now, the Italian’s exceptional ability to uncover hidden gems on the transfer market may come in handy.
