After a rough few seasons at Leicester City, Manchester United signed defender Harry Maguire in 2019 with the hope that he can prolong his spell at Old Trafford.

Even though he was relieved of his Manchester United jersey in the summer, Harry Maguire has stated his intention to keep playing for the club.
The fate of Erik ten Hag is uncertain at Old Trafford after the club’s FA Cup final victory against Manchester City. Though the club has not officially confirmed it, rumours circulated in the days leading up to the match that they had decided to fire the Dutchman regardless of the result.
According to the Sun, Maguire is adamant about staying with the 13-time Premier League winners despite all the uncertainties. With a year left on his present deal, the former Leicester City player will meet with club officials this summer to consider his future.
The 31-year-old joined the club in 2019 for £85 million and is eager to remain for as long as he is desired. Supposedly, United has the option to extend his contract until 2026.
Ten Hag’s entrance in 2022 marked the beginning of a dark chapter for Maguire. After Lisandro Martinez’s arrival, the defender saw his playing time decrease and was relieved of his captaincy last summer.
Maguire was a key player despite not making his Premier League debut until October of this season due to a series of injuries. A calf injury hampered Maguire’s playing time, although he still managed to appear in 31 games for the season.
The veteran is unsurprised by the uncertainty surrounding United this summer, after the club’s worst Premier League result. This is the life of a player for this club, he told The Sun.

Players are closely watched and said to be leaving if the team fails to achieve satisfactory performance. As a result, they are sold, placed on the transfer list, and the manager feels the heat.

The next thing Maguire hopes for is to be injury-free for EURO 2024 after he was unable to recover in time to play in Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory. The defender is one of 33 players named to Gareth Southgate’s preliminary team; the final roster will consist of 26 players before the tournament begins.
