Now that Xavi has officially been replaced as Barcelona’s manager by Hansi Flick, numerous players’ futures at the team are in doubt.
Joao Felix, who is presently on loan from Atletico Madrid and may not be able to stay at Barcelona after this season, is one of them.
The forward garnered a lot of interest during the summer transfer window of the previous year, and it seems like that trend is continuing this year.
Felix might be traded to Atletico Madrid for a Manchester United player.
Felix and Atletico Madrid don’t get along, so there’s very little chance of him coming back to the team.
The Rojiblancos are looking for ways to get rid of the Portuguese star permanently because Barcelona is also hesitant to invest a lot of money on him.
Additionally, the Daily Star reports that Atletico Madrid is prepared to trade Mason Greenwood for Manchester United in exchange for Joao Felix.
Getafe has been a good place for Greenwood to stay on loan from Manchester United; he recently won the Getafe Player of the Season title.
Because of this, Atletico Madrid views him as a capable successor to Felix, who has had difficulty putting up steady play for the team.
Another Felix loan is fine with Barcelona.
Felix’s prospects of remaining put have improved with the departure of Xavi Hernandez, but only if another loan acquisition occurs.
According to rumours, Felix is actually highly likely to stay with Barcelona for the upcoming campaign, with Jorge Mendes attempting to broker a deal that would satisfy everyone.
We’ll have to wait and see how things work out, but if Felix is persuaded by Atletico Madrid, a transfer to Manchester United might happen.
