After months of rumours, Manchester United have reportedly moved in to recruit Joshua Zirkzee this summer.
The Old Trafford club reportedly had a 40 million euro provision that only applies to the striker’s previous club, Bayern, according to March’s Corriere dello Sport.
Since Manchester United spent a comparable sum to get Hojlund last year, Bologna will want £73 million from United for Zirkzee, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, which broke the news last month.
There are interesting and conflicting developments in yesterday’s edition of the Milan-based magazine.
GdS states that all teams are eligible to take advantage of the 23-year-old striker’s enticing termination clause, which is worth 40 million euros.
Exit clause, however, will not be applicable until July 1st to the 15th.
In Italy, Milan and Juve are interested in signing him, while United and Arsenal “boast richer portfolios” in the Premier League, posing a serious danger to Bologna’s desire to keep him.

According to Gazzetta, Manchester United ‘have acted in time’ and have the financial wherewithal to acquire Zirkzee during the next summer transfer window.
The Bologna team, which the Dutch international played in 34 Serie A games for, qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 60 years thanks to his 11 goals and 5 assists.
The teenage forward had been nominated to the Netherlands’ preliminary squad for the Euros by coach Ronald Koeman, but he was left off yesterday when the final roster was announced.
