Before this weekend’s FA Cup final versus Manchester City, footage of Manchester United’s travelling 22-man team surfaced, and supporters realised someone was missing.
On Friday afternoon, Erik ten Hag’s side took the two and a half hour train ride to London.
Amad Diallo, who has been on the rise lately, Casemiro, Diogo Dalot, Rasmus Hojlund, and other players were seen moving through Stockport Station.

But Anthony Martial may not be able to attend the match on Saturday at Wembley.
After his contract ends this summer, the 28-year-old attacker, who is poised to quit United, has had injury struggles throughout his nine years at Old Trafford.

Actually, on December 9, Martial made his last appearance for the team against Bournemouth.
Following a 13-week layoff following groyne surgery in January, the Frenchman resumed full training at the beginning of May.
After being observed in training on Wednesday, it seemed more and more probable that Martial would make the team for the final on Saturday.
However, others have questioned whether he would play after missing his flight on Friday.

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News verified his absence by stating: “Anthony Martial was not with the United team when they departed for London.” It seems that the match against Bournemouth on December 9 was his last game for the team.”

Following Roy Keane’s remark on Manchester United’s injury woes earlier this month, Wayne Rooney, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, questioned Martial’s absence.

Following United’s victory against Newcastle, Keane made the following statement on Sky Sports: “If you are always injured, you are no good to anybody.” Okay, a few injuries will occur at every team.
However, several of the athletes in that group seem to be hurt all the time. These guys are not someone you can count on to play for Manchester United every week.”
“It’s like Martial, for example; I’ve played with him,” Rooney said. He is a very kind person. Where, however, has he been? When was the last time I saw him perform? What’s the deal with him?”

Rivals compel Man Utd to modify their uniform unusually for the FA Cup final. Man City
In order to compete against Man City in the FA Cup final on Saturday, Man United will need to modify their uniform.

For their FA Cup final matchup against rival City on Saturday, Manchester United was obliged to make an unexpected adjustment to their uniform.
In a historic match at Wembley, the two teams compete in an all-Manchester final for the second time in a row.
United advanced to the final after defeating Coventry on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw after 120 minutes of play. United is anticipated to fire Erik ten Hag regardless of the outcome.
Champions of the Premier League City defeated Chelsea 1-0 in their semifinal match, setting up a rematch between the two teams in the championship game.

It wasn’t until last year that they faced off in a final, with City emerging victorious 2-1 to win an unprecedented triple.
After only 12 seconds, Ilkay Gundogan scored a brace, including the quickest goal in the history of the FA Cup final.
Since 1885, the same two clubs have not faced off in consecutive cup finals: Blackburn Rovers and Queen’s Park.
However, it has surfaced that United would need to alter their uniform for the match. The FA has confirmed that United will wear red jerseys, black shorts, and block socks, according to Samuel Luckhurst.

While City will be decked out in sky blue shirts, white shorts and sky blue socks, Andre Onana will be dressed in yellow custodian apparel.

Last year, United had to take the same action to allay concerns over a hue clash.
Before the match, there were rumours circulating that, after a miserable domestic campaign in which United finished ninth, Erik ten Hag would be fired regardless of the outcome.
The situation is similar to that of 2016, when Louis van Gaal was fired after United defeated Crystal Palace.
Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel, Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank, and Mauricio Pochettino are on the five-person shortlist that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have created.

Unique: Ella Toone discloses a secret chat with a Manchester United teammate that resulted in an FA Cup final wonder goal.
In the FA Cup final, Ella Toone gave Manchester United one of her greatest goals to yet.
Chris Byfield
Ella Toone scored earlier this month when she scooped up the ball at the halfway line at Wembley, sprinted purposefully towards goal, sidestepped a tumbling Eveliina Summanen and sent a 25-yard effort into the top corner.
Toone’s first of four goals that saw Manchester United Women decisively win their first FA Cup was the stuff of dreamsโher fourth goal in seven Wembley outings.
In addition, Toone said to SPORTbible, “I have never hit one like that before,” while promoting Pepsi MAX’s “Where There’s a Ball, There’s a Way” campaign in a cosy hotel room in central London. I was practicing the week prior, which made it humorous. After training, I always go shooting.

“I was working with our keeper, Phallon Tullis-Joyce, and I told her that I was having trouble shooting when I was driving with the ball.”
“And then, for some reason, the other day, I was driving with the ball, and as soon as it left my foot, I knew it was one of them that was going in. I’m not sure what happened.” I’m pretty happy with how well the finish turned out. These are unquestionably the finest goals I’ve ever scored.
In addition to scoring the first goal for England’s victories in Finalissima and Euro 2022, it was Toone’s third winner’s medal at Wembley.

Nonetheless, admirers of all stripes will be moved by the artistic mastery and significance of her most recent Wembley goal. After all, this is her childhood team, which triumphed in its first-ever major women’s championship by defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup final the previous year.
Toone stated: “It’s the past. We’ve been together for six years, and every day we continue to create history. That day, when the women’s team was founded, will always be remembered as the day we won the FA Cup for the first time.
“It feels very amazing, in my opinion, to go back and push a little bit harder and win after knowing how much effort it took to get to the finals the previous year.

“After six years at the club, all we ever wanted was to win a trophy,” the author writes.
“It means a lot, and it’s even more special because I grew up as a United fan and had dreams of playing for the team and winning trophies.”
While promoting Pepsi’s most recent initiative, Hidden Pitches, which has constructed makeshift fields around London, Liverpool, and Manchester in an effort to encourage people to play football and challenge social norms that can restrict accessibility, Toone was bragging about her FA Cup victory.
The “Where There’s a Ball, There’s a Way” campaign from Pepsi MAX is being promoted by Toone.

Yes, the Lioness coached and officiated a 2v2 competition at one of the pitches that evening.
“You should have the opportunity to play football, regardless of your skill level or that of the person next to you,” she said of the initiative.
“There are a lot of individuals out there, in my opinion, who don’t believe they can play as well as other people, but what matters is that they can still love football and go to the game with their friends.
“It’s especially great that it’s in three different locations across England because it allows as many people as possible to come and play.”

Even if Manchester United wins the FA Cup this weekend, sources suggest that manager Erik ten Hag will be fired.
At Old Trafford, Ten Hag has had challenges in his second season as manager. His team’s Premier League position of eighth was their lowest since 1990.
Now, United’s chances of playing in Europe the next season are dependent on their performance versus City at Wembley on Saturday.
However, it now seems like Ten Hag’s hopes of captaining the club for a third season are gone.
According to The Guardian, even if his team wins the FA Cup, the Dutchman will be fired by the club’s owners.
Ten Hag will be fired regardless of the outcome, according to a ‘well-placed source’ at United.
This is expected to be Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s biggest move since INEOS bought a minority investment in United and took over football operations at the team.
According to the article, United has already compiled a shortlist of five players who may succeed Ten Hag.
This includes Brentford manager Thomas Frank, former United coach Kieran McKenna, who just led Ipswich to the Premier League, and three former Chelsea managers, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, and Graham Potter.
Prior to the championship game, Ten Hag shot off rumours about his potential to become manager.
He didn’t have anything to say in response to the question of whether the game may be his last as manager.

“I’m simply concentrating on my task, which is to win the game on Saturday before moving on to the project. Continue working on the project.”
“I came here to win trophies,” Ten Hag said.
“We earned this opportunity as a team and I have the next one on Saturday. Now we just need to go for it.”
“At the same time, for the last two years, you have reviewed it naturally after each season. After that, we will assess our progress on the project and identify any necessary adjustments.
“We recently discussed it. There are excellent things going on below: players are emerging, players are growing, and values are emerging.
“And, in the same time, we have on Saturday a big opportunity to win the next trophy.”

Before the FA Cup final at Wembley, a clear favourite to succeed Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager has surfaced with the bookmakers.
Ten Hag currently seems to be a dead man walking at United due to rumours that, should his team defeat Manchester City on Saturday, he would be fired.
The Dutchman’s second season at Old Trafford has been very challenging, as United’s Premier League result of ninth is their lowest since 1990.
Now, United has to defeat City in the home of English football in order to have a chance at playing in Europe.
There are rumours that United has already created a shortlist of five candidates to succeed the outgoing Ajax boss.
This includes Brentford manager Thomas Frank, former United coach Kieran McKenna, who just led Ipswich to the Premier League, and three former Chelsea managers, Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, and Graham Potter.
Following their departures from Chelsea and Bayern Munich, respectively, Tuchel and Pochettino are both free agents.
Since Chelsea fired Potter in April of last year, he has been without a position; Pochettino was subsequently named as Potter’s permanent successor.
News from Sky Sports
The bookies currently see Pochettino as the obvious frontrunner to take over as United’s manager going forward; he is expected to take over for Ten Hag this summer.

As per the odds offered by Sky Bet (via OddsChecker), McKenna is now at 7/4, while Pochettino is currently the favourite at 3/2.
It’s interesting to note that Roberto De Zerbi, who is third favourite at 6/1, is not on United’s rumoured five-man shortlist.
Then, at 7/1, comes Tuchel, and at 10/1 comes England manager Gareth Southgate, who is another name not on the rumoured five-man shortlist.
Frank is listed at 12/1, while Potter, the least probable of the aforementioned contenders, is set at 18/1.
